Ardbeg OA – Take your mind off!-

Take your mind off!

We sincerely hope that all of you are safe and are not impacted by the virus. The lockdown is a challenge for all of us, please take your mind off by exploring something that you have not done before.

Let’s start with us rolling the ball….

Ardbeg OA. Now remember guys Ardbeg is something that I am very partial to and apart from the 1978 Connoisseur Choice and Blasda I have not really ‘hated’ any expressions from their stables. The former cause of the expectations…

Nose: Now if you want to smell wet earth and peat and bog this is quite the thing for you. Great nose though it seems one dimensional.

Palate: Now here is the bummer! It’s as flat as a soda opened during Christmas! And left open by the way. Sure there is the usual peat and medicine of Ardbeg, but there is nothing more but some dryness (good) which is like a good white wine, peat which is wet peat and then there is a nice bitterness about. But hey this is Ardbeg and you expect so much more! Very very flat and unidirectional. Not good

Finish: Strangely long and quite lingering. Not very satisfying but lasts in the strangest manner.

Very very average indeed

80 points (with a struggle)

Hope you all read the review and been able to take your mind off, do that once in a while please.
